Annual investment allowance
The new capital allowances rules, which came into effect in April 2008, allow a 100% deduction for the cost of plant and equipment used in a business on expenditure of up to £50,000 in one year. This is called the annual investment allowance (AIA).
A website can only be claimed for once, but new websites are allowed to be claimed for through the AIA, as are new IT support equipment and software.
Ongoing costs:
Web hosting and domains names that cost yearly can be claimed for under the businesses advertising and business entertainment costs, this can also include online marketing and search engine optimisation plans.
Computer repairs (like for like repairs) can also be claimed for as an allowable expenses.
